And my tired eyes smiled at the feeling
The sight drifting before my minds eye
With all the time stretching before me
It was all over
Irony smirks 'How right you are'
A door opens
Another slams shut
Shuddering
The window panes burst
And the glass splinters
So unexpected the smile still lingers
As I stand outside a locked door
Surprised to see blood and feel pain
Splinters, tearing at my soaring heart
Feathers, red flecked drifting apart
The glitter in pools on the floor
Oh please let some breeze or tidal wave
Carry it away
Let the pounding rain fal

The twilight fades to grey,
Pink streaks the sky from day,
To dusk.
The light is blue but fading,
Receding brightness beauty melting
Its way into the sky.
And the indigo grows within the violet,
And diamonds show their faces yet-
I like it darkest:
When all the sky is washed
With sparkling milk,
Tipped from the moon and cosmos whole,
Into the night's upturned bowl.
And some shine distinguished
From the rest,
A diamond dunked into the milk.
The sunset blue,
Is pretty for a while,
But the night, the stars,
That wide expanse of glowing fire,
Of heavens wider
Than the imagination,
Grips and lifts me up towards
